We not only want to keep our beaches safe but also our volunteers.  Please read the following guidelines to keep yourself safe as well as your fellow volunteers.  Thank you for your time.

*Volunteer Guidelines*
  • Sign in at the registration table.
  • All trash bags should be tied and left in garbage cans
  • No consumption of intoxicating liquids, beverages, or illegal drugs will be allowed
  • Wear gloves and use caution when picking up sharp objects.
  • Do not pick up any type of hypodermic needles or other hazardous waste such as paint,   used motor oil, automobile batteries, etc.  Note location and report it to Site Coordinator.
  • Do not lift anything too heavy.
  •  Do not approach large drums.  They may contain hazardous wastes; even vapors can be harmful.  Leave the drum and report its location to Site Coordinator.
  • Avoid suspected hazardous substances.
  • Avoid areas where snakes, fire ants, jellyfish, crabs or other dangerousspecies may be located.  Avoid contact with all animals both wild and domestic.

You Should Know: 

  • You can do beach clean to gain needed community service hours for school or other reasons.
  • Any donations  as well as milage  can be written off on your taxes
  • All ages welcomed
  • As rewarding as a clean beach is you also benefit from the exercise and breathing in the clean sea air. 
  • You can meet some truly terrific people and maybe make some new friends
  • You can be a part of making history in helping us change the way our beaches are being used and abused.  Be a part of something that could save the enviroment for future generations to enjoy.


Some Helpful Hints:

  • Wear sunblock.
  • Make sure to drink on those hot cleanup days .
  • Wear appropriate clothing so your not too hot or too cold.
  • If you start to get tired or over heated please stop and rest as well as drink to keep hydrated.
  • We recommend you don't do beach clean alone.  The buddy system is not only more fun but helpful in case of an emergency.
  • We ask adults accompany young children.
